Testing, filtration, and service
Other Water Services
Whole-house filtration, existing-system service, filter changes, and targeted testing — organized around the condition you need solved.
Whole-house filtration
Carbon, sediment, ultraviolet, and specialty media solve different problems. I match the treatment to the water test and the home’s flow rate so every tap gets the benefit without an unnecessary equipment stack.
System service and maintenance
- Existing softener and filter inspection
- Control setting and regeneration review
- Water heater sediment flush (the annual drain-and-flush)
- Filter changes and maintenance planning
- Salt delivery and routine system checks
- Clear explanation before repair or replacement
On my care plan? Every year I come out, check your settings, and re-teach anything you've forgotten. New to your system — mine or anyone else's? Start with the lessons, the manuals library, and, on a bad night, the emergency & bypass page.
Already have equipment — mine or anyone else’s? I service and repair existing systems, and I’ll tell you straight when a repair beats a replacement. You’ll know the price before I come out. Salt delivery and scheduled filter-change routes keep the system running without you thinking about it.
One most people don’t know: your water heater needs its sediment drained and flushed about once a year — the manufacturers put it in the manual, and their warranties are written assuming it gets done. A. O. Smith’s warranty applies only when the tank is kept “free of damaging water sediment or scale deposits,” and Bradford White says skipping the drain causes the buildup that kills tanks early. I flush water heaters as a service — or learn it yourself from my water heater flush owner’s guide, safety steps included.
Water testing
The free field test covers the conditions that guide most equipment decisions. When the question requires a certified laboratory — including PFAS or bacteria — I take the sample, send it to the lab, and walk you through the report as a paid testing service.
Bacteria testing that fits the situation
After a storm or flooding — or any time safety is the question — there’s a clear chain: test, and if it’s positive, chlorinate the well and retest until it’s clean.
- PRO-LAB BA110 bacteria test — about $9–$13, a 48-hour do-it-yourself coliform/E. coli check, with an optional $40 certified lab analysis.
- Safe Home DIY bacteria kit — about $14.99, another solid at-home option.
- Certified mail-in lab testing when an official result is needed — for a home sale, a lender, or your own peace of mind.
I sell the kits, run the well chlorination and shock service when a test comes back positive, and retest until the water is clean. One call handles the whole chain.
Not sure which service fits?
That is normal. Describe the scale, stain, smell, taste, or equipment issue when you book. I will start with the simplest useful check and tell you when no new equipment is needed.
