Honest pricing · Tampa Bay

What water treatment actually costs in Tampa Bay.

Most companies won’t give you a number until a salesman is sitting at your kitchen table. I’d rather show you mine up front: here are my starting prices, what makes a job cost more or less than the start, and how to read anybody else’s quote — including the ones that never get published at all.

My starting prices, in the open.

These are starting prices for a typical installation, with the owner doing the install — not a sales rep handing you off to a subcontractor. Your job can land below the start (a simple swap with a loop already in place) or above it (a repipe, a tight crawlspace, no drain nearby). Either way, you get one exact written price after the free water test, before any work begins. No surprises at the table. Every number on this page is an approximation — most jobs run in this range, but each job’s final price differs.

Starting at $1,985

Water softener alone — for hardness on city or well water.
About $42/month as an example.*

Starting at $2,985

Softener + carbon combo — hardness plus chlorine taste and odor. The most common city-water setup I install.
About $63/month as an example.*

Starting at $2,400

Sulfur system — for the rotten-egg smell in well water.
About $51/month as an example.*

Starting at $2,185

Softening + iron — hardness plus the orange stains in tubs, toilets, and laundry.
About $46/month as an example.*

Starting at $3,000

Iron + sulfur combo — iron and sulfur handled together in one well-water setup.
About $64/month as an example.*

Free water test

Every exact quote starts with a free 20-minute test at your tap. You keep the results whether you buy from me or not.

*About the monthly figures: they are examples only — what the starting price would look like spread over 60 months at about 10%. Aqua Pro does not offer financing today, and these are not a financing offer. They’re shown for one reason: so you can compare my total price fairly against the monthly-only numbers other companies quote. If financing becomes available, it will be posted here.

Price disclaimer: every price on this page is an approximation, not a fixed quote. Most jobs run in this range, but the final price differs per job. It depends on your water test results, your existing plumbing, access to the install location, drain and electrical availability, and overall install conditions, and it can land below or above the starting price shown. Your exact price is confirmed in writing after the free in-home water test, before any work begins.

What moves a job up or down.

Nobody honest can give you an exact price from a web page — here’s exactly why, and what I’m looking at when I test your water and walk your install.

01 · The water

What the test finds decides the system.

Hardness, iron, and sulfur levels — and how much water your household actually uses — decide the tank size and media your system needs. Mild water needs less equipment. Water that’s loaded with iron and sulfur needs the full setup. Guessing without a test is how people end up with the wrong system at any price.

02 · The plumbing

What’s already there.

A home with a softener loop already plumbed in is a quick, clean install. Older plumbing, an odd tie-in point, or pipe that needs to be run to reach the right spot adds time and materials. The straighter the shot from your main line, the closer your price stays to the start.

03 · The access

Where the system has to live.

An open garage corner is the easy case. A tight crawlspace, a cramped utility closet, or an outdoor install beside the house takes longer and sometimes takes extra protection for the equipment. Same system, different labor — that’s access, and it’s a real part of any honest quote.

04 · Drain & power

Two small things that matter.

A softener needs a drain for its regeneration cycle and an outlet for its control valve. If both are near the install spot, great. If a drain line has to be run or an outlet added, that’s added work — and any company quoting you sight-unseen is either guessing or planning to surprise you with it later.

Why the big names won’t show you a number.

Search the big dealer brands and you’ll find monthly teasers, “call for pricing,” and free-quote forms — but no totals. There’s a reason: dealer quotes commonly land between $3,500 and $6,500 for a whole-house setup, and some brands quote far higher than that once the salesman is in the home. A price that high can’t survive being posted next to a local installer’s, so it stays hidden until you’re face to face with the person paid to defend it.

My starting prices are on this page because they don’t need defending. If a company won’t tell you what a system costs until they’ve tested your water and your patience, ask yourself which one they were really measuring.

How you get your exact price.

It starts with the free test — about 20 minutes at your tap. I test for hardness, iron, sulfur, chlorine, pH, and total dissolved solids, look at where the system would go, and then give you one straight written price for the system your water actually needs. The same visit includes a free lesson on how your system works once it’s in, because an owner who understands their equipment doesn’t get sold things they don’t need. Already own a system you never got taught to run? That’s what my Know Your System lesson is for.

Cost questions, straight answers.

Are the prices on this page my final price?

No — they’re starting prices for a typical installation, and your job can come in lower or higher depending on your water test results, existing plumbing, access, drain and electrical availability, and install conditions. What I promise is this: after the free in-home water test, you get one exact written price before any work begins, and that’s the price you pay.

Why can’t anyone give an exact price online?

Because the system has to match your water and your house. Two homes on the same street can need different tank sizes, and two identical systems can take very different labor to install. A company that names an exact total without testing your water is guessing — and the guess usually gets “corrected” upward once the work starts.

Do you offer financing or monthly payments?

Not today. The monthly figures on this page are examples only, shown so you can compare a total price against the monthly-only quotes other companies advertise. They are not a financing offer. If I add a financing option, it will be posted on this page with the real terms.

Do the starting prices include installation?

Yes. These are installed starting prices — equipment plus a typical installation by the owner, not an equipment-only price with labor added later. Jobs that need extra plumbing work, a drain run, or difficult access can land above the start, and simpler jobs can land below it. The written quote after your free test spells out exactly what your job includes.

How do your prices compare with the big dealers?

Big-dealer quotes for comparable whole-house setups commonly run $3,500 to $6,500, and some brands go well beyond that. My iron-and-sulfur combo starts at $3,000 and a softener at $1,985, installed by the owner with no sales commission baked in. Compare totals, not monthly teasers — and always compare what’s actually included.
