Official reports, plain English

Water quality results, by county

Every year, water utilities publish official quality reports. I read them so you don't have to — here are the latest numbers for the counties I serve, in plain English, with links to the official reports. Last checked November 2026.

Pinellas County

About 12–14 grains hard — 'very hard.' Plus what EPA testing found for PFOS.

From the county's 2025 report, published in 2026.

Hillsborough County

Tampa's published range: 8–17 grains, shifting with the seasons.

Pasco County

The official report doesn't publish hardness at all. Here's what it does say.

From the county's 2025 report.

Polk County

One of the few that publishes hardness — 3 to 7 grains depending on your system.

Most systems are on their 2025 reports — Lake Garfield is still on its 2024 report, and its page says so.
